SNC-Lavalin’s deal with the Qatar Petroleum-Sasol joint venture, for which no value was given, will encompass work on the Ras Laffan GTL complex, including “general engineering, feasibility studies, modelling, drawings and documentation,” according to a company statement.
As part of its agreement with N-KOM, McDermott will pursue engineering, procurement, construction and installation work as the lead contractor, as well as assuming procurement responsibilities, while N-KOM will take on fabrication duties and work as subcontractor.
“This agreement will add value to our services in this area to better support the local oil and gas industry in Qatar,” Abdullah Fadhalah Al Sulaiti, Nakilat managing director, said about the deal.
“Through this exclusive agreement, McDermott and Keppel build upon our long-standing relationship to combine each company’s strengths to benefit our clients in Qatar and increase Qatari local content,” McDermott vice-president for the Middle East Linh Austin said.
