Calcasieu Pass LNG facility begins commercial operations
ARLINGTON, April 16, 2025 – US LNG production company Venture Global has launched full commercial operations at its greenfield Calcasieu Pass facility, the company announced on Tuesday.
Located in Cameron Parish, Louisiana, the Calcasieu Pass liquefaction and export facility consists of several mid-scale, modular liquefaction trains and processing facilities with a combined export capacity of 10 million tonnes per year of LNG.
“We are excited to reach this milestone and are grateful for our regulators and supply chain partners who have worked with our team to reach commercial operations as efficiently and safely as possible,” said Mike Sabel, CEO of Venture Global.
Calcasieu Pass began producing LNG and shipping commissioning cargoes in March 2022. Venture Global’s second LNG facility, Plaquemines LNG, has a nameplate capacity of 20 million tpy and achieved first production in 2024. The company is currently constructing three additional facilities for a total capacity of 100 million tpy. All projects are located in Louisiana.
