Drilled using the Pioneer 302 rig, the Nelson 13 well reached a total depth of 2,815 metres, encountering nearly 32 metres of net gas pay in the Porquero sandstone reservoir and more than 49 metres of net gas pay in the CDO sandstone reservoir.
Nelson 13 will be tied back to Canacol’s Jobo gas processing facility, the statement said.
The company also provided an update on its 2019 drilling programme, saying that it would drill two exploration wells and two appraisal wells at the VIM-5 block and one exploration wellat the VIM-21 block, as well as one appraisal well and two development wells in the Esperanza area.
