Chart, Bechtel reach technology agreement

HOUSTON, October 29, 2015 – Chart Industries and US construction and engineering company Bechtel have struck a technology agreement for work on a floating LNG carrier, the global manufacturer announced Wednesday.
The long-term agreement charges Chart with designing and building floating LNG process facilities, according to the company’s third quarter results.
Bechtel will have exclusive rights to Chart’s liquefaction technology and will only purchase equipment such as aluminium heat exchangers and cold boxers from Chart.
“Our collaboration with Chart will enhance current floating LNG engineering and construction models in the industry by offering efficiencies on single mixed refrigerant plants to our customers,” Joe Gebara, general manager of Bechtel’s Offshore Business Line, said in a company statement.
