Chevron extends offshore Angola licence to 2050

Cabinda Gulf Oil Company (CABGOC), the Angolan affiliate of Chevron, has signed a deal to extend its Block 0 offshore licence by 20 years to 2050.

CABGOC on Monday announced the extension for the block, which is home to the Mafumeira Sul development.

“We are proud to have played a significant role in the development of the country’s oil and gas industry, and we look forward to continuing to help provide reliable, affordable, ever-cleaner energy that enables human progress and powers Angola forward,” Billy Lacobie, managing director of Chevron’s Southern Africa Strategic Business Unit, said.

CABGOC operates Block 0, home to 21 fields, with a 39.2% interest. Partners include <a href=’https://theenergyyear.com/companies-institutions/sonangol/’>Sonangol EP (41%),  TotalEnergies EP Petroleum Angola (10%) and Eni Angola Production  (9.8%).

Between Block 0 and deepwater Block 14, CABGOC’s net daily production for 2020 averaged 89,000 boe of liquids and 9.63 mcm (340 mcf) of gas.
