Companies vie for Bolivia O&M deal

Bolivia

LA PAZ, November 29, 2016 – Bolivia’s state-owned YPFB is pushing back the deadline for bids on the operations and maintenance contract for the Bulo Bulo ammonia and urea plant.

The two-year contract has met with interest from some 12 companies, including Chicago Bridge & Iron, Exterran, Stork and ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions. Firms can now submit bids until December 5.

The USD 917-million ammonia and urea plant is scheduled for completion in 2016 and will have an initial production capacity of 1,200 tonnes of ammonia per day. This is to be increased to 2,100 tonnes per day, which would require 1.42 mcm (50 mcf) of natural gas per day.
