ConocoPhillips to drill in Alaska reserve

USA
ConocoPhillips’ plans to drill in Alaska’s federal reserve have been set in motion after receiving permission from the US government, the US multinational energy corporation announced in a company statement Friday.

The Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Land Management has given ConocoPhillips and its partner US upstream company Anadarko Petroleum drilling rights and a right-of-way grant. ConocoPhillips plans to drill up to 33 wells that are part of the Greater Moose’s Tooth Unit project.

ConocoPhillips and Anadarko Petroleum will be responsible for constructing a 48-square-metre well pad on the northern side of the 93,000-square-metre reserve.
