HOUSTON, October 26, 2015 – ConocoPhillips’ plans to drill in Alaska’s federal reserve have been set in motion after receiving permission from the US government, the US multinational energy corporation announced in a company statement Friday.

The Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Land Management has given ConocoPhillips and its partner US upstream company Anadarko Petroleum drilling rights and a right-of-way grant. ConocoPhillips plans to drill up to 33 wells that are part of the Greater Moose’s Tooth Unit project.

ConocoPhillips and Anadarko Petroleum will be responsible for constructing a 48-square-metre well pad on the northern side of the 93,000-square-metre reserve.
