DNO poised to develop Iranian field

OSLO, November 16, 2016 – DNO on Wednesday inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with National Iranian Oil Company for the development of the Changuleh oilfield through a newly established subsidiary.
DNO Iran will represent the Norwegian mother company in the market, where it will work to develop Changuleh. DNO cited its experience with fractured carbonate reservoirs in the neighbouring Kurdistan Region of Iraq, where it operates the Tawke field, as one of the reasons behind the proposed market entry into Iran, which Managing Director Bjorn Dale called an “obvious and exciting next step.”
The Changuleh field, discovered in western Iran in 1999, is home to an estimated volume of oil-in-place of more than 2 billion barrels.
