EG seals gas deal, plans hub

LONDON, May 10, 2018 – The Ministry of Mines and Hydrocarbons of Equatorial Guinea has sealed an agreement for the supply of feedstock for the Punta Europa LNG plant, international media reported on Thursday.

The plant, operated by Marathon Oil, is at risk of shutting down as production from the Alba gasfield is in decline, Reuters reported.

The agreement involves Noble Energy and the Aseng and Alen fields it operates, separate reports claimed. It is widely seen as a step towards the construction of regional gas megahub in Equatorial Guinea.
