Though few details about prices or quantities were immediately available, a Platts report suggested some 5 mcm (177 mcf) per day could be on the agenda. Argentina approved gas sales to Uruguay on Wednesday and would need the imports to offset those quantities, Reuters reported.
ENAP, meanwhile, is looking to finance a USD-800 million investment plan and USD 200 million of liabilities, Ramos told Reuters. The company plans to tap debt markets as well as other sources of funding, including gas sales.
“We’re very optimistic […] Unless something very strange happens we should be shortly announcing new gas exports to Argentina,” Ramos told the agency.
