Engie boards India LNG re-gasification project

MUMBAI, April 26, 2017 – On Tuesday, H-Energy of India said it had reached an agreement with Engie for use of the latter’s floating storage and re-gasification vessel GDF Suez Cape Ann.
The unit, which will be associated with H-Energy’s LNG import and re-gasification project, will be chartered for a period of five years, with an option for extension. The vessel is scheduled to reach its location in the third quarter of 2018.
The GDF Suez Cape Ann unit has a storage capacity of 145,000 cubic metres and the re-gasification capability to support the 4-million tpy project at Jaigarh in Maharashtra.
“We value the relationship with Engie and are happy that a global LNG player like Engie is part of our FSRU project, we feel that both the companies will enhance their relationship further through various collaboration measures in future as well,” H-Energy CEO Darshan Hiranandani said in a press release.
Construction work on the jetty for the floating storage and re-gasification vessel was assigned in December 2016 and got underway in February 2017.
Earlier this month, the engineering, procurement and construction management contract for the 60-kilometre-long tie-in pipeline connecting the port to Dabhol was awarded to Engineers India. Work is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2018.
