Eni makes further discovery offshore Cyprus

Cyprus

NICOSIA, December 22, 2022 – Eni and TotalEnergies have made another significant gas discovery on Block 6 offshore Cyprus, the two energy giants announced on Wednesday.

The Zeus-1 well encountered 105 metres of net pay gas, putting estimated gas in place associated with the reservoir at between 56.6 bcm (2 tcf) and 85 bcm (3 tcf).

The exploration well was drilled by the Tungsten Explorer drillship.

The two companies are targeting a fast-track development of the concession.

The find follows two discoveries on the play, one in 2018 at the Calypso-1 well and one in August 2022 at the Cronos-1 well.

Eni holds a 50% operating stake of the block, with TotalEnergies holding the remaining shares.
