Eni signs Oman EPSA, sells stake to QP

MUSCAT, November 14, 2017 – Eni signed an Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement (EPSA) for Block 52 offshore Oman and farmed out a 30% interest to Qatar Petroleum (QP), the Italian major announced on Tuesday.

The deals will see Eni operate the underexplored block with a 55% interest, with partners QP (30%) and NOC Oman Oil Company Exploration & Production (15%).

“The signing of the Block 52 EPSA represents an important milestone in Eni’s strategy to reinforce its presence in the Middle East region,” Eni CEO Claudio Descalzi said in a statement. “We wish to establish with the Sultanate of Oman, which is a historical oil and gas producer in the region, a long-lasting relationship in the best tradition of Eni.”
