Etu Energias completes Angola appraisal well
LUANDA, May 12, 2026 – Etu Energias and its partners have completed drilling, completion and testing at the Espadarte 7ST2 appraisal well in Angola’s Lower Congo Basin, the company announced on Thursday.
The well is located in Block 2/05 in the Lower Congo Basin. The deviated and extended-reach well discovered eight productive intervals with a total net thickness that confirmed the presence of high-quality reservoirs, with porosity reaching up to 25% in some areas.
Initial tests resulted in stabilised production of up to 2,500 bopd with no water production. On the basis of the results and in the context of standing development plans, Etu Energias expects to drill one more appraisal well.
“The success of the Espadarte 7ST1 well is a milestone for the country and strategic for the company as well as for Block 2/05, particularly as it is the last development area of the block that is now entering production,” said Etu Energias chairman Edson R. Dos Santos.
Etu Energias is a privately owned oil and gas company with operated and non-operated assets in Angola’s onshore and offshore basins. Its portfolio includes operated onshore blocks FS, FST, CON 1, CON 2, CON 4, CON 6 and CON 8 as well as offshore Block 2/05, with non-operated interests in offshore blocks 3/05, 3/05-A, 4/05, 14, 14K, 14/23, 17/06 and 32.
