LUANDA, May 28, 2025 – Etu Energias has signed a risk service contract for Block CON 4 in the onshore Congo Basin in partnership with Sonangol EP and GESPROCON, the company said on Wednesday.
The consortium will operate under a 25-year concession, with Etu Energias holding a 67.5% stake, Sonangol EP 20% and GESPROCON 12.5%, in accordance with Presidential Decree No. 91/25 of 28 April. The contract designates five years for exploration and 20 years for production.
“Etu Energias’ entry into Block CON 4 represents yet another vote of confidence from the Angolan State and our partners in the company’s ability to lead operations safely, efficiently and profitably,” chairman of the board of directors Edson R. Dos Santos said. “The proximity of this block to other concessions already operated by Etu Energias will enable important synergies and accelerate the start of exploration activities.”
The company said the signing aligns with its expansion strategy and reinforces its long-term commitment to Angola’s oil industry and sustainable development goals. By leading this operation, Etu Energias aims to enhance local content and contribute to Angola’s economic and social progress through reliable energy delivery.
