Freeport LNG seeks fourth train project extension
USA Freeport LNG Development L.P.
In May 2019, permission was received from the US Federal Regulatory Commission to commence building the new train and related infrastructure but was met with delays due to challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In September 2020, the authorities extended construction to May 2026.
The latest request will would see works extended until August 2028.
The Freeport LNG terminal currently consists of three trains with a capacity of 15.45 million tonnes per year.
