Fugro wins marine survey contract at Indonesia’s Abadi LNG

JAKARTA, March 6, 2024 – Fugro has won a contract to provide marine surveying for the Abadi LNG project in Indonesia, the Dutch geotechnical player announced on Wednesday.

The contract was awarded by Japan’s Inpex, which is developing the 9.5-million-tonne-per-year project alongside partners Pertamina and Petronas.

Fugro will undertake geophysical and geotechnical surveys to support the FEED phase for the project’s offshore production facilities, submarine pipeline to the onshore LNG terminal and CO2 injection infrastructure.

“Our geo-data expertise … is particularly valid for the development of the Abadi LNG project, where overcoming engineering challenges including slope stability, regional seismicity, subsea faulting and carbonate sediments will require a collaborative and informed approach,” Fugro CEO Mark Heine said.
