Gas compression unit set for Cantarell
Mexico The shipyard owner said the Taisun 200B design unit was sailing for the Pemex-operated Cantarell oilfield under an eight-year charter. There, it will reinject associated gas into the oil layer to increase recovery rates.
Agosto-12 has four sets of hydraulic pin jacking systems with 3,200-tonne normal jacking and 6,000-tonne storm-holding capacity. The unit is adept of operating in a category three hurricane.
The Cantarell field is estimated to flare 17mcm (600 mcf) per day of associated gas, a figure set to be reduced to 5.66 mcm (200 mcf) per day once Agosto-12 comes on line at the asset, according to Yantai CIMC Raffles Offshore.
