Gazprom welcomes CNPC unit for plant

The CNPC subsidiary will carry out design and equipment procurement services for the 42-bcm-per-year facility. Negotiations on participation were concluded in February.
Construction on the Amur plant began in October 2015. Once completed, it will feature six processing trains capable of production 2.5 million tonnes of ethane, 1 million tonnes of propane and 500,000 tonnes per year of butane, among other products.
CPECC’s involvement falls under the 2014 sales and purchase agreement between Gazprom and CNPC that will see Russia supply China with 38 bcm (1.34 tcf) per year for a duration of 30 years.
