Ghana begins oil exploration in Northern Region
ACCRA, September 13, 2018 – The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) has begun exploration in the country’s Northern Region, local media reported Wednesday.
A total of 16 districts in the region are thought to have potential for commercial quantities of crude, Graphic Online reported.
During a visit to the region, Minister of Energy John-Peter Amewu asked traditional rulers in the region for co-operation and said the ministry would work to address the erratic power supply in the region.
