Ghana to set up oil training institute
ABERDEEN, June 18, 2018 – Ghana’s Petroleum Commission has announced plans to open a national petroleum training institute, local media reported Friday.
The regulator will work with Aberdeen Skills and Enterprise Training to develop the local institution, Ghana News Agency reported.
Petroleum Commission CEO Egbert Faibille said the institute was part of the agency’s initiatives to boost in-country value retention and would fast track upstream capacity and skills development.
The agreement was made during an oil and gas trade mission from Ghana to Aberdeen, intended to strengthen ties with Scottish companies.
