Glenfarne and PTT sign Alaska LNG offtake deal
ANCHORAGE, June 24, 2025 – Glenfarne Alaska LNG has signed a co-operation agreement with Thailand’s PTT for the procurement of 2 million tonnes per year (tpy) of LNG over 20 years from the Alaska LNG project, Glenfarne said on Monday.
The agreement outlines steps toward definitive agreements for long-term LNG offtake and partnership, and was signed in the presence of Thailand’s permanent secretary of energy, Dr Prasert Sinsukprasert, and US Ambassador to Thailand Robert Godec.
“With today’s agreement and previously announced agreements, Alaska LNG has now reserved 50% of its available third-party LNG offtake capacity to investment grade counterparties,” Glenfarne Alaska LNG president Adam Prestidge said.“The project has overwhelming interest from additional counterparties globally.”
Glenfarne Alaska LNG is progressing final engineering with Worley and engaging pipeline contractors to support a final investment decision. The 20-million-tpy project includes a 1,299-kilometre pipeline from the North Slope to Nikiski, Alaska, to meet both export and domestic needs.
Glenfarne Group owns and develops LNG infrastructure, including Texas LNG and Magnolia LNG in the US, and is the largest importer of LNG into Colombia. Its energy portfolio spans 60 operating assets across five countries and includes 32.8 million tpy of permitted LNG capacity.
