GNPC seeks exploration partner

ACCRA, May 18, 2018 – Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) will explore one of the nine blocks the country plans to award this and next year with an IOC partner, the Energy Ministry said Thursday.

 

Three of the blocks will be auctioned in an open competitive tender, and two are to be allocated through direct negotiations. GNPC will work with a partner on one block to develop its technical capabilities. The remaining three will be awarded next year.

Wednesday, Minister of Energy Boakye Agyarko announced a committee to evaluate bids in the upcoming licensing round. Earlier in the month, the minister said the licensing round would begin in Q3.
