HOUSTON, April 14, 2026 – Halliburton has secured a multi-billion-dollar long-term contract from Argentina’s YPF for unconventional completions services in the Vaca Muerta shale play, Halliburton announced on Monday.

The award followed a competitive process and establishes a dedicated, exclusive, and multi-year collaboration between the two companies. Halliburton will provide bundled unconventional completions services and deploy its proprietary electric fracturing services outside the US for the first time.

“This award significantly increases our footprint in Argentina and reflects our customers’ confidence in Halliburton to deliver large-scale unconventional fracturing through technology leadership and operational excellence. This strategic collaboration with YPF brings the industry’s most advanced technology to Argentina,” said Casey Maxwell, president, western hemisphere, at Halliburton.

Halliburton provides drilling, completion and production services worldwide. In Argentina, it supports operations across shale oil and gas. YPF is an integrated energy company with operations in the oil and gas upstream and downstream sectors, as well as in power generation.
