Husky’s milestone installation at Madura Strait

JAKARTA, November 10, 2015 – Husky Energy has been successful in installing a platform at the BD field offshore Indonesia, the Canadian integrated energy company announced Tuesday in a statement.

The jacket and wellhead platform was installed in 55 metres of water for the gas condensate BD field located in Indonesia’s Madura Strait. The company predicts that developmental drilling will soon commence with first production slated for 2017.

Plans to further develop this field are underway before its set production date. The construction of the floating production, storage and offloading vessel is about 30-percent complete, according to the statement. The company has signed a gas sales agreement with an undisclosed buyer for a fixed price and volume.

The field is estimated to produce 1.13 mcm (40 mcf) of gas per day and 2,400 barrels of oil per day.
