Icewine well spud onshore Alaska
JUNEAU, October 23, 2015 – 88 Energy has spud the Icewine 1 exploration well located onshore Alaska, the Alaskan exploration company said in a press release Friday.
The company plans to drill the well to 3,535 metres and complete drilling operations in 30 days, targeting the HRZ shale formation. Follow-up data results from drilling are expected to take several months. The well is part of 88 Energy’s Project Icewine, covering a 400-square-kilometre area in Alaska’s North Slope.
The drilling permit was approved by the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission after the company experienced a delay in commencing drilling earlier this month.
