Indonesia gives HHI $48-mln power deal

ULSAN, January 18, 2018 – Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) has won a USD 48-million order for power generation facilities from Indonesian state utility PLN, the company announced Wednesday.

HHI will provide 21 dual-fuel 4.1-MW Himsen engines and related equipment for seven power plants between September 2018 and March 2019.

To bring power shortages to an end, President Joko Widodo announced a plan to add 35 GW to the country’s national grid by 2019. The goal, first announced in April 2015, will see the construction of nearly 300 new power plants and will cost roughly USD 72.5 billion.
