According to Omran, the necessary construction permits have already been issued by the respective authorities in Amirabad Port, located on Caspian coast not far from the border with Turkmenistan. The joint venture refinery is to process Kazakh crude for export, Omran said, who also encouraged Kazakhstan to enter into a crude oil swap agreement with Iran. No further details about the project were disclosed at the meeting.
