Kent bags pre-FEED contract for Scottish offshore wind project

DUBAI, April 14, 2023 – Kent has signed a contract with energy players BP and EnBW for the pre-FEED study of the Morven offshore wind project in Scotland, the Dubai-based engineering entity announced on Thursday.

The six-month study involves designing of equipment and assessing feasibility of transportation and installation.

Kent will partner with local consultant Ternan Energy to provide geotechnical services.

The project is expected to generate 2.9 GW using fixed-bottom turbines in water depths of 65 metres to 75 metres, making it one of the deepest offshore wind developments in the world.

As part of the development, an operations and maintenance base is expected to be made in Aberdeen that will support the regeneration of the Port of Leith.

Scotland aims to produce 11 GW of offshore wind power by 2030.
