Lundin spuds well in Neiden prospect

OSLO, October 5, 2015 – Lundin Petroleum’s subsidiary, Lundin Norway, has spudded its exploratory well 7220/6-2 in the Loppa High play, the company announced on Monday.

 

Located in the Barents Sea offshore Norway, the 7220/6-2 well is being drilled by the semi-submersible Island Innovator. The well is targeting prospective resources of 204 million barrels of oil equivalent at a total depth of 1,350 metres for an estimated 40 days.

Lundin Norway holds a 40-percent working interest in the PL609 production licence alongside its partners, exploration and production companies Dea Group and Idemitsu Petroleum, each holding 30 percent.

Lundin Petroleum announced on Friday that it had spudded the Mengkuang-1 well in Malaysia’s offshore Bertam oilfield.
