Norwest Energy hits huge Australian gas find
Norwest Energy NL has discovered significant gas flow on its onshore Lockyer Deep-1 exploration well on the Perth Basin in Australia, the Australian E&P company announced today.

The flow test measured 2.89 mcm (102 mcf) per day, with a maximum flow rate of 3.31 mcm (117 mcf) per day.

The company claims the find has the highest gas flow rate on the Perth Basin.

The well is operated by Mineral Resources’ subsidiary Energy Resources with an 80% stake. Norwest Energy NL holds the remaining shares.

The well will be shut in after further tests are run to evaluate reservoir and pressure data.
