Odfjell secures Kuwait well contract

Odfjell Drilling has won an onshore well services contract from Kuwait Oil Company, the Oslo-listed company said in a press release on Tuesday.

Odfjell will provide various well services for Kuwait Oil Company rigs. Through its well services division, the company will undertake work in the areas of wellbore clean-up, tubular running services, drillpipe, downhole drilling tools and pressure control.

The contract will last for five years, with work beginning this month. Its value was not disclosed.

Odfjell noted that 120 rigs are active in Kuwait and this figure is expected to grow “significantly” in 2018.
