OGDCL hits gas in Pakistan

Pakistan
Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDCL) has hit gas in the Sukhur district of the province of Sindh, the Pakistani national hydrocarbons company reported Thursday.

The Thal East 1 well was drilled at block 2769-15 to the depth of 4,468 metres to test the hydrocarbons potential of Massive and Basal sands of the Lower Goru Formation. The well is producing 665,000 cubic metres (23.5 mcf) of gas per day through a 91/162 cm choke.

“One more zone in Lower Guru Formation Sand is available which is yet to be tested and hopefully will add more reserves,” OGDCL added.

OGDCL has 24 exploration licences in the province of Balochistan and is producing gas from its Uch, Loti and Pirkoh fields.
