Oman to build Indonesia refinery

JAKARTA, January 30, 2018 – The Omani government will finance the construction of a USD 10-billion refinery in Bontang, Indonesia, international media reported on Tuesday.
Indonesia’s NOC Pertamina has selected Oman’s Overseas Oil and Gas and Cosmo Oil International to develop the project, Reuters reported, adding that Pertamina expects to secure a 10% interest in the refinery, as well as 20% of the facility’s output.
“Hopefully in 2025 this refinery will be operational,” Ardhy N. Mokobombang, Pertamina’s director of refinery mega-projects and petrochemicals, told the agency.
