ONGC awards offshore drilling contract

Shelf Drilling has signed a three-year drilling contract with ONGC for operations offshore India, the Dubai-headquartered oilfield services company announced on Tuesday.

The Ron Tappmeyer jackup rig is currently under contract with ONGC for other works that will finish in Q2 2022. The work on the new contract will begin in Q4 2022.

Cost of the contract or location of the drilling work was not disclosed.

Shelf Drilling has won three additional contracts for its jackup rigs from ONGC this year, including a three-year contract for the Parameswara rig, a contract for the Trident XII rig and a three-year contract for the JT Angel rig.
