The company’s overall output will be reduced by 95,000 bopd and 792,960 cubic metres (28 mcf) of gas per day between July 28 and August 4, as the FPSO undergoes scheduled maintenance. Pemex said that this temporary stoppage “will not affect the [company’s] annual production goal.”
El Señor del Mar has been producing at Ku-Maloob-Zaap since June 2007, and was the first vessel of its kind to be stationed in the Mexican side of the Gulf of Mexico. The 340-metre-long FPSO has a processing capacity of 200,000 bopd and 3.4 mcm (120 mcf) of gas per day.
Located in the Bay of Campeche off the coast of Tabasco state, Ku-Maloob-Zaap has been producing since 1981. The asset includes five heavy-oil fields, which together produce about 1.9 million bopd.
