Perenco contains oil leak in Gabon

LIBREVILLE, May 2, 2022 – Perenco has halted operations on its Cap Lobez oil terminal near Port Gentil in Gabon due to an oil leak, the London-headquartered company announced on Saturday.

More than 30,000 barrels were spilled, which is more than the country’s daily oil production.

The reason for the leak was not disclosed, with an investigation ongoing.

No marine contamination was detected.
