“We are delighted to have entered into an SPA [sales and purchase agreement] with PetroChina, which has been an active buyer of spot LNG cargoes from PNG LNG,” said Peter Botten, managing director of partner Oil Search, in comments cited by Reuters. “The first sale under the new agreement is expected to take place this week.”
PetroChina will buy 450,000 tonnes per year of LNG, the report added.
