PGS kicks off Angola offshore 3D-seismic drive

Geophysical services firm PGS has launched a multiclient 3D-seismic campaign offshore Angola in collaboration with the country’s National Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency (<a href=’https://theenergyyear.com/companies-institutions/anpg/’>ANPG).

Using the Ramform Atlas vessel, PGS will collect high-density 3D GeoStreamer data from Block 1/14 in the Lower Congo Basin. Acquisition will continue until April and fast-tracked data is expected to be ready in October.

The survey will make the first 3D-seismic data available for Block 1/14, situated near the plume of the Congo River.
