Qualitas Energy, Mirova form Italian renewables JV

MADRID, March 20, 2025 – Spanish renewables-focused investment manager Qualitas Energy and asset management company Mirova have signed an agreement to establish Italian Renewable Platform, a joint venture for renewables projects in Italy, the companies announced on Thursday.
The new venture will be dedicated to owning, developing, building and operating up to 250 MW of renewable energy projects in Italy. It will be majority-owned by Mirova through its Mirova Energy Transition 6 fund, while Qualitas Energy will provide development, construction supervision and monitoring services.
Italian Renewable Platform’s portfolio contains 33 solar PV assets of different maturities, including 53 MW of operational projects, 41 MW of ready-to-build projects expected to be complete by end-2025 and 54 MW of projects in late development phases. The partners are also contemplating the expansion of the portfolio with up to 100 MW of wind generation capacity.
“Our long-term commitment to Italy and its energy transition is steadfast. We will continue to play an active role in advancing the country’s clean energy landscape, and we are actively expanding our project pipeline by pursuing new opportunities,” said Manuel Espinosa, partner at Qualitas Energy.
Italian Renewable Platform’s asset portfolio was entirely developed by Qualitas Energy through Qualitas Energy IV, a EUR 1.1-billion fund that has invested in brownfield and greenfield solar, wind and energy storage assets in various countries in Western Europe.
