Gas production has started at the Sagari field in Block 57 onshore Peru, operator Repsol announced on Wednesday.

MADRID, December 27, 2017 – Gas production has started at the Sagari field in Block 57 onshore Peru, operator Repsol announced on Wednesday.

 

“The start of production at Sagari will lead to a 25% increase in the block’s total output,” the Spanish major said in a statement. “Starting in January 2018, it will produce 5.6 mcm [198 mcf] per day, approximately one-fourth of Peru’s total gas demand.”

Repsol holds a 53.84% stake in the licence, with the rest held by China National Petroleum Corporation.
