Russia to build Pakistan pipeline
Pakistan The proposed link will bring gas from LNG terminals in the south to the country’s north, where energy is in high demand.
The 1,100-kilometre line will have the capacity to move 12.4 bcm (438 bcf) of gas per year.
Termed the North-South pipeline, the link will reportedly be built by Russian company RT Global Resources – part of state-owned Rostec – with an investment of $2 billion from Moscow.
The deal was signed by Russian Minister of Energy Alexander Novak and Pakistani Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in the presence of Pakistan’s prime minister, Nawaz Sharif.
