Saudi Arabia makes new gas finds

Saudi Aramco has made two natural gas discoveries in the Empty Quarter among others in the Eastern Province and previously discovered fields in Saudi Arabia, Reuters reported on Sunday.

According to local news, the Al-Hiran gasfield saw gas flows of 30 mcf per day and 1,600 barrels of condensate per day and the Al-Mahakik gasfield saw gas flows of 850,000 cubic feet of gas per day.

Both finds are located in the Empty Quarter.

Five other discoveries were made in previously discovered fields and additional finds have been made in the Eastern Province.

In September 2023, Saudi Aramco joined the LNG market by acquiring a minority stake in LNG player MidOcean Energy for USD 500 million.
