Scotland’s WES eyes combined wave and wind energy

INVERNESS, July 28, 2022 – Wave Energy Scotland (WES) is exploring the potential of combining offshore floating wind and wave energy generation.
The company launched a tender for a study earlier this month, seeking to examine opportunities for the sharing of infrastructure, supply chains and services.
Such sharing could involve scenarios ranging from co-location to the sharing of a physical substructure, WES said in a press release.
Formed in 2014 at the request of the Scottish government, WES aims to drive innovation to ensure wave energy technology is reliable and cost effective.
