Seabed Geosolutions wins two new contracts

USA
Offshore seismic services provider Seabed Geosolutions is gearing up to begin work on two new contracts worth a total of around $180 million.

The first contract covers a shallow-water survey within the Ghasha-Butini field offshore Abu Dhabi. The $125-million project was awarded by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company. It comes as a variation order for seismic work Seabed Geosolutions successfully performed on the state-owned company’s Hail-Shuweihat sour gas fields. The contract was signed on Monday and is expected to take around 12 months for completion.

Seabed Geosolutions has also won a $55-million contract for an ocean bottom cable survey in the Asia-Pacific region. Details concerning the owner of the project or the specific area to be covered have not been disclosed. Seabed Geosolutions has confirmed it expects work on the project to be wrapped up by the fourth quarter of 2015.

Seabed Gesolutions is a joint-venture company formed in 2013 between two larger geophysical services companies, Dutch multinational Fugro and France’s CGG.
