Shelf Drilling wins $54-million North Sea contract
DUBAI, May 1, 2024 – Oslo-listed Shelf Drilling has secured a contract for the Shelf Drilling Fortress jack-up rig with an undisclosed North Sea operator for work in the UK continental shelf, the company announced on Tuesday.
The estimated duration of the engagement is 400 days with a contract value of approximately USD 54 million. The planned commencement of operations is August 2024 in direct continuation of the rig’s current contract.
Shelf Drilling Fortress is a jack-up drilling unit designed to operate in water depths up to 400 feet (122 metres) and suitable for work in harsh environments.
Shelf Drilling has a fleet of 36 shallow-water jack-up rigs deployed at various locations in India, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, West Africa and the North Sea.
