HOUSTON, July 10, 2026 – Houston-based Superior Energy Services has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire oil and gas equipment manufacturer Sonic Holdings to expand its production equipment and services capabilities, Superior announced on Monday.

Sonic provides proprietary electric feed-through technologies, production equipment, drilling wellheads and aftermarket services, mainly to operators in the Permian Basin. Superior said it will integrate Sonic’s business into its Wellsite Solutions segment.

“Sonic is an exciting acquisition for Superior and represents our initial expansion into a production-driven product line, growing our exposure to the less cyclical side of the oil and gas business,” Superior chairman and CEO Dave Lesar said.

“Joining Superior creates an exciting opportunity to accelerate our growth, expand our reach and continue delivering best-in-class solutions to our customers,” added Sonic CEO Brody Whitley.

The transaction is expected to close in Q3 2026. Financial terms were not immediately disclosed.

Superior Energy Services is a provider of oilfield services and equipment for drilling, completion, production and decommissioning activities for onshore and offshore projects. The company operates in North America and more than 55 countries globally.
