Talos Energy acquires Gulf of Mexico assets

Talos Energy has signed agreements to acquire US deepwater player EnVen Energy Corporation to expand its US Gulf of Mexico assets for USD 1.1 billion, the US independent announced on Thursday.

The transaction will increase Talos Energy’s acreage by 35% and production by 40% by adding 24,000 boepd.

EnVen Energy Corporation operates the following five offshore platforms in the US Gulf of Mexico: Brutus/Glider, Lobster, Cognac, Neptune and Prince. The company has proven and probable reserves of 78 million boe.

The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2022.
