Termokarstovoye gas field brought on stream

MOSCOW, May 20, 2015 – Novatek announced today the start of gas and condensate production from the onshore Termokarstovoye field in Russia.

Located in the Yamal-Nenets autonomous region of Siberia, the field is operated by Terneftegas, which is a joint venture between Total and Novatek, Russia’s largest independent gas producer.

The field is expected to produce around 2.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas and 0.8 million tonnes of de-ethanized gas condensate per year, with plans for it to meet its daily production level by as early as June 2015.

Twenty-two gas condensate wells were drilled as part of the project. The field’s infrastructure has been adapted to arctic conditions and also includes a gas gathering network, a gas treatment unit, and a gas condensate de-ethanization facility.

The joint venture holds the rights to the field until 2021. Total has a 49 percent stake, with Novatek holding the remaining 51 percent.
